How to get out of Tummy Time 101

I'll admit it. We haven't been very faithful about making sure
Madeline gets enough tummy time.
It happens most days but we definitely haven't worked up to 15 mins.
It's hard when there's always someone wanting to hold her!

Today was our first day home.
And I was bound and determined to
get her through at least a solid ten minutes.
But our crafty little girl had other plans.

Thats right. We aren't such horrible parents that we
 leave our baby face down in her own spit up.
{But we are so horrible that we take a picture before wiping her off - ha}

Geography

I've never been very good at geography....
You know how you focus on learning your states
 and world geography in 4th and 7th grade?
Yeah... I was home schooled during those years.

When we were flying home, however, Jeremy and
 I both brought the word stupid to a whole new level.
{For the record we both know the things I'm about to tell you -
we had just finished finals and hello we have a
 three week old baby.  We're kinda tired...}

So we're flying into the Oakland Airport and the
 airport is positioned right on the San Francisco Bay.

A picture for those of you who are as bad at geography as us

It's not broad daylight, but it's about 3:00 in the
afternoon so the light is pretty dang good.
Jeremy looks out the window and says,
"Hey Sarah, I think that's the..." He didn't finish his sentence.
But I knew he was going to say, "OCEAN."
 The funniest part was that you could see mountains across the bay.
I literally lol'd.  And yes I just said lol'd.  I'm that cool.

But then, me being the girl who's just super good at
awesome comebacks says, "Yep - that bridge leads to Europe Jeremy!"
oops.... I quickly corrected myself and said, "I mean JAPAN."
{dang it...}

But luckily Jeremy took the cake later when he was
commenting on the fact that he's never seen the ocean.
He said, "Yeah I saw Pearl Harbor when
 I was in Seattle. -- I mean Puget Sound..."
haha.HA.

Hope you enjoyed a good laugh at the stupid things we sometimes say!

Random

I'm randomly remembering two things that happened that I meant to put in some post sometime but forgot.
And for the sake of not forgetting again and losing them from my memory forever,
I've decided to make a random post just for these two things.
Cause its my blog and I can make random non-sensical posts if I want!

Random #1
November 20th, when we decided we were in fact going to go to the hospital, just to make sure it was in fact amniotic fluid I was leaking, as Jeremy was rushing around the house, gathering last minute things for the bag, I apparently was a little flustered, too.  Jer came into the bathroom where I was brushing my teeth to ask me something, but instead exclaimed, "THAT'S MY TOOTHBRUSH!" oops.... my bad!

Random #2
On our third night home from the hospital, Jeremy and I were sitting on the couch watching something {don't remember what to tell you the truth}.  Madeline was laying on my lap, sound asleep. All of a sudden she filled her diaper with a rather loud noise and it scared her so bad she practically jumped!  It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.  {I realize this probably happens to a lot of babies, but it was funny getting to experience it first hand with our own daughter.}

Patience and Pineapples

I'm learning very quickly that when it comes to this baby
I am not a very patient person.
All of a sudden I just REALLY want her to come!
I'm ready to go to the hospital and get-r-done!
You know how when women go past their due date they start doing all those "myths" to get their contractions going?
Well I may have tried a few harmless ones during the past few days.
No acupuncture or castor oil - I'm not that impatient, but you know,
lots of walking and pineapple.

mmm.... so good!

too.much.pineapple.

yeeah....

That's right.  Last night I ate (almost)
an ENTIRE PINEAPPLE all by myself!
{Jeremy had a few bites}  So far I'm sad to report that no changes have been witnessed.... It's a good thing I like pineapple or this would have been a really miserable experience haha. We still have one more pineapple in the fridge that I think I'm going to try and eat most of with dinner.  The worst part is my tongue gets so raw! But if there's even the slightest chance that it could put Madeline in my arms sooner, I'm willing to give it a shot :)
It feels good not to be just sitting and waiting but actually contributing somewhat to the coming of this miraculous event!

Other than that we don't have much to report around these parts.  We were supposed to get snowed on but thankfully that didn't happen.  Jeremy and I went on a rather long walk this after noon and it was {COLD}
I decided I'm ok with hanging on to fall for a few more weeks.

Happy 37 WEEKS! We're officially full term!

Last Weekend {Including a recent picture of the 8 month pregnant me}

Last weekend was simply F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S!
My Dad, and two of my sisters, Hannah and Rachel, and my brother Joshua drove down to Utah for my cousin Stephen's wedding.  It was so fun to see them and celebrate Stephen's special day!

They were married in the beautiful Salt Lake City Temple.  It was such a special sealing :) Reminded me of ours (10 months ago! Where does the time go?) I've never seen Stephen so happy!

Joshua had a hard time warming up to me - perhaps because I look a little different than I did a few months ago.  Plus I think he was a little overwhelmed being in a new place with lots of unfamiliar people.  But he warmed up soon enough.

Here it is - a picture of me... I seriously don't see myself this big, well I do, but it always surprises me to see pictures of myself.  But it's officially documented! We're posing with the cardboard cut out of David, our cousin (Stephen's brother) who is on a mission in Florida.

Stephen had this grin on ALL day! It was so cute! We're so glad you found each other
 Stephen and Amy :)

Don't you love the cake! I thought the Temple was a precious touch.

You'll notice that this picture has Joshua and I out of focus.  That's because I REALLY wanted a picture of the guy just over my left shoulder.  Can you see his mustache? Doesn't even do it justice! That thing was like 4 inches long on both sides! I knew Jeremy would appreciate it, and he couldn't come, so I had my dad take a picture of Joshua and I.  Dad had never done anything like this before and he was laughing so hard lol good times...

Cutest wedding gift ever!
{Coming from the girl who absolutely loves Martinelli's}

Congrats Stephen and Amy! Thanks for giving us a reason to get together :)

Dear Madeline, we love you!

Dear Madeline,
I hope you know how much you are loved.  Your fake aunts and uncles love you, your real aunts and uncles love you, your grandparents love you, but most of all your parents love you :) We love you so much! We love watching you kick, and feeling you move around.  We love your presence in our life, and we have a story to tell you to show you just how much we love you!

Abouta month ago? Maybe just three weeks, we ordered you a cute lil crib to put in your nursery! We've been anxiously awaiting it's arrival {not as anxiously as we're waiting for you though}.  So finally the last possible day arrived for it to get to Walmart so we could go pick it up! And then it was delayed another day... so then today was the day! So after we finished our classes we headed off to Wally-world to get that crib! Of course we missed the part in the email that said we need a confirmation code... And for some stupid reason the irritable lady didn't know how to pull up our names in connection to the order... gah... So thanks to your loving Grandma for logging into my email and getting the code, we finally got it pulled up! She went to the back and got it, turns out the size description on the internet wasn't quite the actual size of it... it didn't fit in our car.  Everyone we knew that might possibly be able to fit it in their car was busy, so we broke down and spent the $22 to buy straps to strap your crib to the roof of our car! And then it started to rain... Luckily it was in a cardboard box, and luckily there was only kind of minimal traffic on University Parkway, so the crib survived! Hurrah! And your daddy set it up so stinkin fast! Wow... he's awesome! Can't wait for you to meet him :)

{And just to make sure you believe our whole ridiculous charade of a story, we took a picture!}

Long story.... really long... we want you to know we love you! Also, we're watching The Office right now, the episode when Jim and Pam have their baby, and we just can't wait to have you!

Love,  Mommy and Daddy
