a special place in my heart

Saint Patrick's Day will always hold a special place in my heart.
Last month I wrote about the miscarriage we had a year
ago in February {you can read about it here if you missed it}
I recovered pretty quickly and soon after we decided,
"Hey! Why wait to try again?"
So we did.  And after we had tried, my doctor's office called
to schedule an appointment for a miscarriage checkup.
The secretary mentioned that it was too soon to try again
but OOPS! It was too late...
{I didn't tell the doctor that of course}

We were working at the BYU Creamery that semester
and we got home from work at about 1:00 am
the morning of St. Patrick's Day.
I knew that if I was pregnant my hormone levels
would be high enough to measure as early as right then and there.

As soon as we got home I scurried to the bathroom
where I had hid a couple pregnancy tests.
I hadn't told Jeremy because I didn't want to get his hopes up.
The longest three minutes of my life passed.
But sure enough a little life existed inside of me.

{pregnant}

It still boggles my mind that a small organization of cells
could grow and develop into this

A strong healthy beautiful little girl
who brings sunshine to my life each and every day.
How grateful I am to my Heavenly Father who saw
fit to bless us with this angel straight from Heaven.
He knew how much we needed her in our lives.
He knew she would be a blessing to all those around her.
Madeline I love you so much and I'm so glad you
came to our family.
 Love,  Mom

  2. She is so adorable. Congrats! I'm pregnant with my first, he's due next month and I think about the same thing, it's amazing how some cells can create a human being. I can't wait to meet my little human being!
