Parents

If you've ever wondered why God is awesome, its because He gave us parents.

I.love.my.parents
{They are so amazing - its insane}

First of all my Mom is one of my best friends
{Obviously Jeremy is my bestest friend}
But she is runner up.
All through high school, my mom was always my confidant and friend.
Every day after school I came home and just told her everything.
Looking back she probably didn't care about half the things I rambled on about,
but she made me believe so at the time,
and that means a lot to me.
My mom has had 9 children. And she's looks fabulous!
Seriously, how many woman who've had 9 kids are super skinny, active, young and BEAUTIFUL?!?
I love my mom - she's my hero.

Guess who else loves my mom - my dad.
I love him too.
Whenever I was upset about something, or just having a rough day, my dad always knew it.
He'd come down to my room and just hold me while I cried my eyes out.
He wouldn't say anything or try to talk about it, he'd just let me let it all out.
I also am so grateful to my dad for being the patriarch of our home.
{If he reads this he'll probably laugh, because every rule he ever created, he got quite the campaign against him from his crazy, emotional, dramatic, teenage daughter - sorry dad}

Looking back there are so many things my parents did
{Those things that I swore I'd never do to my children}
that I appreciate so much now.
They knew exactly what they were doing, and everything they did was for my own good,
because they really do love me.

As Jeremy and I are starting our own family, I realize how lucky I am to have a husband who will be a great father to our children, and patriarch of our home.
I'm grateful for my parents, and Jeremy parents, because of their examples of good parenting that we can pattern our family after.

Parents are awesome - I can't wait to be one.

I love you mom and dad!!!

  1. I totally agree! Growing up, everyone who knew your family (although you didn't live in KC NEARLY long enough!) looked up to them. And I was definitely one of them! Your parents are amazing, and I always loved how they raised you guys: all of you were the most peaceful children I've ever met! Go, Bro. & Sis. Fullmer! Oh, and I've always wondered HOW your mom looks SO incredible too! She looks great!!

    So, what's your take on family size? Are you going to go big like your parents? My number was six, but after one very colicky newborn and a c-section, the number is "one at a time"...hopefully my body lets me have as many kids as the Lord wants us to have, but with a c-section in the history we're trying to be a bit more open. Plus, Nathan was a VERY difficult baby!!

  3. Yes they are awesome - and my mom looks better than she's ever looked before right now! She's lost so much weight. She's awesome.

    Family size - I also picked the number 6. I love my family and there's no one in it I would ever give up, but I don't think I could do as great a job as them. But like you (even though I've never had a baby) I'm gonna take it one at a time.

    You're so amazing Alaina! I can't believe how strong you are. To tell you the truth I wasn't going to be a mom and do school, but you've inspired me and I really do want to graduate - I just didn't think it was possible til I saw you doing it!

    So yeah, one at a time, but '6' ;)

  7. Sarah,

    I love you! You've brought us so much joy all through your life. And that just continues with the happiness you've found with your dear eternal companion. Thanks for all your kind words. You are such a delight. Mom and I are so grateful for the wonderful example you are setting for your 8 siblings to follow.

    Love,

  9. Sarah, There's nothing like getting married and leaving home to truly help you appreciate your parents. I happen to think they're pretty awesome, too. Love, Mom-in-law.
